CHOQUEQUIRAO, CRADLE OF GOLD

Itinerary
Choquequirao (the Aymara chuqui gold and Quechua K'iraw, cot, ie "cradle of gold"), are the ruins of an Inca city located between the foothills of the snowy Salkantay in the province of Anta, region Cusco, southern Peru. The archaeological remains of Choquequirao are comprised of buildings and terraces on different levels, from the lowest level Sunch'u Pata truncated to the highest peak, which was leveled and fenced with stones to form a platform with an approximate area of 150 m.
